Mentoring

Mentoring

Mentoring, both formally and informally, has always been an important component of the legal profession. Good legal skills cannot be learned merely by attending law school. During my long career, I have been fortunate to have an excellent mentors who have become my friends.
In order to “pay it forward,” and at the request of one of my informal mentors, I am now participating in the John Marshall Law School mentor-mentee program. This is my second round as a formal John Marshall Law School mentor but, just as I have been helped, I have informally mentored many young lawyers.
It is my privilege to pay forward the knowledge and kindness that I received.
