Cook County Department of Corrections inmate visitation suspended due to weather

Please be aware that due to the extreme weather, the Cook County Sheriff has suspended inmate visitation at the jail today and tomorrow. The full release can be found at: https://www.cookcountysheriff.org/

It states in part:

“Important Cook County Jail Notice
Regarding Extreme Weather

“Due to the extreme weather conditions, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office is making the following announcements regarding jail operations:

“Visitation is suspended for Monday, January 6th and Tuesday, January 7th. Visiting hours will resume on Wednesday, January 8th.

“The Sheriff’s Office has established a 24 hour weather hotline –
(773) 674-6618 – for family and friends of detainees to call with questions concerning the posting of bond and to make arrangements to pick up detainees who are discharged during the adverse weather conditions.

“Detainees who are homeless or do not have transportation will be allowed to postpone their discharge until the weather improves and the Sheriff’s Office determines that conditions are safe enough to resume the usual discharge process.”
